This section begins in the town of Aljezur (Algarve) and ends at Vila Nova de Milfontes (Alentejo).
Towns and villages typical, serene but rich in heritage, which we can highlight the beaches, Ribeira de Seixe, the Mira River and its estuary, the Fishing Ports and Sardão Cape and its lighthouse.
Along the way be sure to visit the town of Odeceixe and Zambujeira do Mar and Almograve villages, all of them by the sea, with a fantastic view and a sunset that you will not want to miss.
Along the route there is a wealth of fauna and flora, where we can highlight the existing otters on the Mira River (is the only Portuguese population of otters – Lutra Lutra), and storks nesting at Cape Sardão, the only site known in world where nest on the rocks.
The Museum of the Sweet Potato, the Aljezur Castle, Municipal Museum of Aljezur, various ancient windmills and Odemira Castle are part of the historical and cultural heritage that are worth mentioning.
The handicraft, agriculture and fishing are the main economic activities and in every town and every village you can see the inhabitants to labor as well as the end result of their work.
This section is included in the Southwset Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park, which extends from São Torpes, south of Sines, to Burgau. It covers territories in the municipalities of Aljezur, Odemira, Sines and Vila do Bispo.
