Nossa Senhora de Vagos Sanctuary

This church was built in the founding years of Portugal as a nation. Pilgrims travelled to this Carmelite sanctuary on a daily basis from neighbouring municipalities. The church was modified in the nineteenth century, but maintains seventeenth century elements. The stone effigies of the Patron Saint date from the seventeenth century.

The processions and pilgrimages are held on the Monday after Whitsunday, and the Monday during Pentecost.
