Guincho Fort

The Guincho Fort was built about 1642, incorporating all the fortresses that formed a defensive belt on the Cascais coast. The fortress is developed in rectangular planimetry, divided into two distinct areas, the lower side of the earth, which corresponded to the arranged accommodation around a courtyard, and another larger, battery platform, which initially housed seven pieces of artillery. At present the fortress is unoccupied, being visible its ruinous state.
