16th Century Ship “Vila do Conde”

The sixteenth century Portuguese ship (Nau Quinhentista)  was a round vessel and high board. In order to show the complexity of organizing the trips, the Nau Quinhentista presents the rooms of some of the crew, as well as their own crew members through human sculptures: the captain, the pilot, the scribe, the chaplain, the apothecary, the helmsman, the bomber and the cabin boy. Simultaneously, are exposed various navigation instruments, cartographic material, different types of goods, pharmacy, trying to elucidate the complexity and the vicissitudes of life on board.
